A battery capacity figure didn't give me the instant mental picture that a tank of petrol or diesel always had.

So I built EVREGEN.COM. Just enter your current petrol or diesel car and its average economy. Then pick an EV you're curious about, look up its average miles per kWh (or km/kWh), and pop that in.

The calculator converts those stats into a familiar figure: the equivalent fuel price your current car would need to hit to match the running costs of that EV.
